When the MacBook Pro does boot, the fans will be blasting at full speed for the entire time you are using the Mac ( resetting SMC or PRAM does not stop the fans running, only replacing the battery will).Īlso it appears that the MacBook Pro will reduce its own clock speed in this situation, thereby reducing performance.

It turns out that some model year MacBook Pro computers will not boot with a simple power button press after the battery has been physically removed or disconnected. And my battery life is about 4 hours give or take an hour based on what programs I use.In this situation, if a battery is removed or totally dead and you attempt to start the MacBook Pro, nothing happens – there is no sound, no system boot, no startup chime, nothing. I re-ran the Geekbench test, my multicore score went from 3,000 to 9,000+. Long story long lol, I bought this GENUINE battery, installed it and W ow my Macbook Pro became the power machine it was supposed to be.

It turned out to be only 4000mAh and it should have been 7,800mAh. Also the battery held about a 1hr charge. I kept researching and the battery was making my MBP have a crazy 800% Kernal_Task panic in Activity Monitor. I downloaded GeekBench and did a CPU test and my MacBook Pro was reporting at a 3rd of the performance it should be.

My Macbook Pro was unbelievably slow, it would freeze every 15 minutes nearly to where to mouse would hardly move. I got it and installed it and I was so excited but not for long. So no big deal, I browsed eBay and found a $22 third party **compatible** battery. I bought a used 2011 MBP off eBay for a great deal however the battery was completely dead, it would not hold a 1 second charge. Only buy GENUINE, Do NOT buy other batteries!
